Wilkes County, NC
was created from Surry in 1778. Ashe County
NC was created from Wilkes in 1799.
The records of Wilkes County show those people who were in Ashe County, but the
records of Surry County do not show those who were in Wilkes County waiting for
a county to be created. The following record pertaining to the COLLINS family
found are presented as they appear in the records. NO additional information
was given other than is listed in this report.
