Abstract: | In recent years electric light sources have become an important tool to the plant biologist, commercial grower, and hobbyist to provide the daily irradiation necessary for the plant's normal development. In particular, light is a limiting factor to the commercial grower during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. The characteristics of light energy emitted from electric light sources and its relationship to the plant's photochemical processes are discussed. This should prove valuable to those who utilize these sources for plant growth. |
