May 20, 1960 Funeral service for Dennis W. SIXKILLER, 73, was held Sunday afternoon, May 7, in the Baptist church at Watts, with burial in Bell Cemetery. Mr. SIXKILLER, a lifelong resident of the community West of Watts, died following a heart attack, probably on May 4th. Because of his failure to return home by late afternoon, his son, Sam SIXKILLER and his daughter Mrs. Margaret BAGBY, went out to look for him and soon found the body in a pasture, near the home, where he had suffered the attack. For years, Mr. SIXKILLER had been an active farmer and ranchman, although retired at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Bertha, of the home; two sons, Sam SIXKILLER of Watts and Blue SIXKILLER of Siloam Springs, Ark.; four daughters, Margaret BAGBY, Watts, Mrs. Cora REED, Vinita, Mrs. Fay GREGORY, Tulsa, Mrs. Helen HOSACK, Rantoul, Ill.; one brother, Lincoln SIXKILLER of Westville; two sisters, Mrs. Kate HADDOCK, Westville, Mrs. Reta LESTER, Ajlune, Wash.; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Joe SIXKILLER, 34 years old, of Watts, son of the late Henry SIXKILLER, former Adair County treasurer, died at a Talihina hospital Monday morning following a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Watts Baptist church by Rev. T. DeWitt SANKEY, Westville Baptist pastor. Burial was made in the Sixkiller Cemetery. SIXKILLER is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Watts; two brothers, Mitchell of Watts and Hiram of Stillwater.

Funeral service for Mrs. Kate LACIE, 73, was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in Roberts Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Willie PADGETT of Sallisaw officiating. The Dolly O'NEAL Quartet sang "Empty Mansion," "I'm Bound for That Mansion," and "I've Been Waiting."
Mrs. LACIE, of Cherokee Indian descent, was born in the East Peavine community southeast of Westville, Indian Territory (now Okla.) November 1, 1888, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward WALKINGSTICK, and died Saturday, February 24 in the Stilwell hospital.
She and Walter LACIE, son of Adam and Jennie LACIE, were married January 9, 1906, in his home and moved just across the road from the original LACIE allotment, to establish their home, where their children were born, and where they have continued to live. Interment was in the family cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. Pallbearers were J.C. WALKINGSTICK, Jasper WALKINGSTICK, Clifford WALKINGSTICK, Edward WALKINGSTICK, J.H. BAGBY and Walter KINDLE. Flower bearers were Mrs. Faye JOHNSON, Mrs. Hazel CARMICHAEL, Mrs. Betty SELF, Mrs. Margaret BAGBY, Mrs. Elizabeth ROSS, Mrs. Ova STALCUP. Survivors include her husband Walter LACIE; a son, Bud LACIE, Westville; two daughters, Mrs. Eulalia PILGRIM, Westville, Mrs. Juanita MAYS,Wendell, Calif.; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Webster CRITTENDEN, a retired employee of the Kansas City Southern Railway, Died July 4, 1972, in the Stilwell Municipal Hospital at the age of 67 years, 10 months and five days. He was the son of Jack and Elsie REESE CRITTENDEN. He was married to Frances WALKINGSTICK who preceded him in death in 1932. To this union were born two sons, Bruce, deceased, and Nathan of Route 3, Stilwell; and one daughter, Sadie, wife of John TORBEY Jr. of Coplay, Pennsylvania; also a step-daughter, Melinda, wife of Raymond HUMMINGBIRD of Tulsa; and three granddaughters. He is also survived by three brothers, Carl, LaVerne and George of Stilwell; and two sisters., Leona CHRISITE and Florene DOYLE of Stilwell. He was preceded in death by a brother, Luke, and two sisters, Nancy and Nellie.

Fred A. (Jack) Wagnon, Muskogee, died Thursday in a Muskogee hospital following a long illness. He was born March 24, 1901 in Beggs. He had been a resident of the Muskogee area all his life, was a retired employee of Egan Manufacturing Co. and had been a lay minister at First Church of Nazarene of which he was a member. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elnora Wagnon, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Jo Cowan, Muskogee, and Mrs. Ramona Woodard, Tulsa; three brothers, Millard Wagnon and Jay Wagnon, both of Vinita, and A. L. Tindell, Oklahoma City; eight sisters, Polly Wagnon and Mrs. Merle Fair, both of Vinita, Mrs. Lela Jones, Muskogee, Mrs. Margaret Igert, Fort Gibson, Mrs. Vina McGill, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Mary White, Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Joan Prigmore and Mrs. Virginia Wilson, both of Bakersfield, Calif., and three grandchildren. Jennie Sixkiller, 94, died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at Grove Nursing Center. Jennie Sixkiller was born on April 9, 1909 in Chanute, Kan. to Silas T. and Loutechia (Schoonover) Allspaugh. She was the last of nine children. She married Robert Milo Sixkiller on July 17, 1926. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1998. She was a member of Jay Bible Church. Survivors include four children Lewis Monroe Sixkiller of Eucha, Hazel Riggs of Jay, Clarence Clark Sixkiller and his wife Sandra of Jay, Glenn Eugene Sixkiller and his wife Carol of Dayton, Md.; twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and an infant daughter Ruby Sixkiller. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2003, at Jay Bible Church with Dolphus Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Eucha Cemetery. BOBBY RAY "PETE" SIXKILLER, 76, of Siloam Springs, AR passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his home. Bobby was born on June 26, 1932 in Watts, OK, a son of William Franklin Sixkiller and Clara M. Russell Sixkiller. He served in the United States Air Force for nearly 22 years, having served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the Air Force he worked for the Gates Rubber Co. in Siloam Springs for 16 years before retiring. He enjoyed boating, fishing and being outdoors. Bobby was a Baptist. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: Two Sons Gordon "Michael" Sixkiller and wife Kimberly of Lee's Summit, MO; William Curtis Sixkiller of Tulsa, OK; One Brother J.L. On Thursday, February 1, 2001 our daddy, Grover Walter Sixkiller, 58, was called home by our Heavenly Father. He passed away peacefully in his home in Roosevelt. Walt was born Feb. 9, 1942 to Ruben Sr., and Lena Denver Sixkiller in Fort Duchesne. He married Maurine Kay Thompson on Jan. 16, 1966 in Elko, Nev. He attended school at Alterra & Union High. He was a naturally gifted athlete, hunter and wildland firefighter. He was a member of the Northern Ute Search and Rescue. Some of his favorite things to do were: spend time with his grandchildren, fishing, going for drives in the country, visiting with friends and remembering the good old days. He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam war. He received a purple heart for his valiant efforts. He was later employed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs for more than 30 years. He is survived by his children, Alison (Jim) Whipple, Grand Junction, Colo.; Kolene (Lorenzo) Martinez, Roosevelt; Lisa (Allan) Whitehead, Franklin, Idaho; Gina (Thomas Alvarez) Sixkiller, Rio Rancho, N.M.; Tana Beth (Dylan) Pool, Roosevelt; Kayle (Nikko) Denver, Roosevelt; Gabriel Eagleheart Sixkiller, Rio Rancho, N.M.; and grandchildren, Sascha Sixkiller, Rhyddian Gerken, Rhyanna Gerken; Haiden Walker Pool; Lethan Walter Sixkiller; Miranda Whipple, Alaine Whipple and Haley Whipple; and Lorenzo Marinez, Jr. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Judy (Marcus Sr.) Motado, Pala, Calif.; Henry Sixkiller, Medora, Ind.; Reuben (Teddy) Sixkiller, Jr., Neola; Pearl (Charles) Ewing, Bountiful; Kathleen (Kent) Sixkiller, Neola; Jack (Delaine) Sixkiller, Vernal; Joan (Robert) Yazzie, Ft. Duchesne; Marie (Timothy) Mangum, Alterra. Walt is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Lena; and his wife, Maurine Kay; brother, Denver Sixkiller; and sister, Mary Sixkiller. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the Roosevelt East Stake Center under the direction of Hullinger Mortuary.
